1. How to Get Massive Amounts of Free Traffic
Traffic is the lifeblood of any affiliate marketing business.
And traffic can be EXPENSIVE.
But if you learn how to get massive amounts of free traffic, you don’t need to worry about paid traffic for a long time – if ever.
The secret to getting massive amounts of free traffic? Just go wherever is hot right now.
Once upon a time it was Instagram. Then Pinterest. And now?
Well now, it’s TIKTOK.
TikTok is the absolute hottest source of free traffic right now, and all video in general. That means:
- TikTok videos
- Facebook Reels
- Instagram Reels
- Pinterest Idea pins
- YouTube shorts
- Long-form YouTube videos
Don’t want to be on video?
There are ways around it.
But my suggestion? Learn to get over that fear.
Video is the NUMBER ONE way to build trust with an audience and increase your know, like, and trust factor instantly. The more times people see and hear you talk, the more they’re going to feel like they know you. In turn, they’ll follow you, trust you, and buy from you over and over again.
Don’t stick with a platform that’s not performing for you.
Social media platforms will come and go. And when new ones come around, they’ll reward founding creators with lots of followers and traffic.
But be careful not to get shiny object syndrome… How many platforms popped up between Facebook and TikTok before one really took off (TikTok)?
New platforms pop up all the time, and not all of them have staying power. In fact, VERY FEW will last and explode – and nothing has exploded as fast or as big as TikTok.
Be smart, go where the people are, and try to hop onto things early to reap the rewards.

2. Features Tell, Benefits Sell
Have you heard this said in the marketing world? Features tell, benefits sell. What does it mean?
Exactly what it says.
You’re going to have a really hard time selling a product if all you do is focus on the features.
Features are things like:
- This course comes with 10 free bonuses!
- You get to join our super-secret Facebook community
- This course includes free coaching and 1-on-1 training twice a week!
These things are GREAT.
And they WILL help the prospect if they decide to invest in the course.
But features aren’t why people buy things.
Do you buy things for the features?
Maybe sometimes, but mostly no.
The first decision you (and anyone) makes in the buying process is an emotional one.
Something made you feel a certain type of way – and you saw what the benefit of purchasing something would be.
People don’t invest in online courses for the free community, the bonuses, or the coaching.
They buy them because of what it will mean for their life.
Benefits focus on the emotional aspect and things like:
- Making more money
- Having a higher status in life
- Being more desired
- Paying off debt
- Being highly skilled (at woodworking, guitar, etc)
Someone is much more likely to buy something if you can convey to them how this new opportunity will improve their life.
So, when making your content, focus on the BENEFITS.
But you have to be careful and not do it in a way that’s salesy or scammy, and definitely don’t make any false claims or income claims.
If you want to learn more about selling benefits over features, I highly recommend reading these 3 books, in order of importance.

3. The Secret of Omnipresence
Omnipresence is being everywhere all the time.
Does that mean you have to spend all day, every day refreshing Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and every other social platform?
Absolutely not.
But you should have a presence on all of these platforms and maintain it as often as you can.
Social media schedulers help.
And no, you don’t have to make different content for each platform.
I recommend making great content on one platform (like TikTok) and then downloading it without the watermark and scheduling it on all other platforms.
Omnipresence isn’t just about social media, though.
You need to be building an email list from day 1 and nurturing your subscribers with weekly emails at the very least.
As you get more advanced as an affiliate marketer, I recommend having a website or blog, too.

4. Launch Jacking
If you want to make fast money with affiliate marketing – especially if you’re a newbie – I highly recommend learning about launch jacking.
Launch jacking is a seldom-talked-about affiliate marketing method where you create reviews for digital products before they launch.
This gives you a major advantage: you can rank in Google and YouTube search with your reviews before people are even searching for them.
As the launch date gets closer, super affiliates and marketers with a massive following will start to promote it to their email list and audience.
And not all of those people will sign up right away – a LOT of them will head to Google and YouTube to look for reviews to see if it’s legit.
Then, they’ll stumble across your article or video. And if your content is good and persuasive enough, they’ll decide to sign up through your link instead.
This is totally legal and it’s a great way for beginners to start making an income with affiliate marketing.
So how do you find out about upcoming launches?
One website you can use is MunchEye.com – this website aggregates digital product launches on many platforms like Clickbank, JVZoo, and WarriorPlus.
On MunchEye you’ll see a list of products, the commission rate, and launch date. Some of them are listed several months in advance so you can create your reviews and give them time to rank.
5. Focus Solely on Digital Products
Are you a struggling affiliate marketer making pennies on Amazon associates? Quit.
And by quit, I mean quit promoting physical products.
Physical product affiliate programs pay the lowest amount in commissions.
This is because physical products have to be manufactured, inspected, and stored in a warehouse or inventory center. When they’re purchased, they have to be packaged and shipped.
Then there is the hassle of returns and exchanges.
All of this is incredibly expensive – meaning affiliates only get up to 10% commissions MAX.
Digital products, on the other hand, pay a LOT in commissions.
It’s not uncommon to find digital product affiliate programs that offer commision rates from 30% all the way to 150% or more.
You might be thinking: “150% commissions? No way. Why would a company LOSE money?”
They don’t.
The affiliate programs that pay over 100% commissions on the front-end sale have back-end sales, upsells, and/or subscriptions.
These businesses have a sales process that is so tight and seamless that they know that even if they pay you 150% of the first sale, they’re going to make more money from that customer.
So it’s worth it to them.
Examples of affiliate programs that pay 100% commissions or more:
- Builderall
- Liquid Web (150%)!
6. High Ticket is Better Than Low Ticket
This one should be common sense, but it’s not.
High ticket products will always be better for your bottom line than low ticket affiliate marketing products.
You might think it’s too hard to sell $1k+ products.
The truth is that it’s harder, but not impossible, not by a long shot.
The secret to making consistent high ticket commissions?
It’s multi-faceted.
- Find a high-ticket product that has a great sales process (this is the most important)
- The more money it costs, the more involved the sales process should be. That means freebies, trip-wires, insane customer support, email follow up, community, etc
- Ensure the product is a hot seller
- The higher the competition and “saturation”, the better – these are key indicators that the product is selling extremely well
- Offer your own bonuses to people who purchase to encourage them to sign up through you (you don’t even have to make these bonuses yourself).
7. Recurring Commissions: The Secret To True Passive Income
While it’s true that affiliate marketing can start generating passive income for you once it’s all set up, the key to making long-term passive income with affiliate marketing is through recurring commissions.
Recurring commissions come from subscription-based products. And not every subscription-based products will pay out recurring commissions.
Some do for the first couple of months, but the best ones are the ones who pay recurring commissions for the life of the customer.
The commissions might be lower, like 30% for a $30 subscription. That’s not as important.
What’s important is that these commissions compound over time – as more and more people sign up, your income will increase every month without extra work from you.

8. Learn Paid Advertising to Scale
Once you’re profitable enough, learning paid advertising will help take your business to the next level.
Utilize Google Ads with long-tail low-cost keywords to funnel as many people as possible onto your email list and to your product reviews.
You should also learn how to advertise on the biggest social media platforms, like TikTok and Facebook.
If nothing else, at the most basic learn how to promote a post or video to a group of interested people to get more email sign ups so you can sell on your email list.

9. Learn Basic SEO
As you get more advanced, making a website is a great way to establish yourself as an authority, build an audience, and tap into another stream of free traffic: Google search.
Even if you don’t make a website, learning basic SEO will help you rank your YouTube videos in search, and it will also help you rank your TikTok videos.
TikTok is moving to more of a search-focused model, and learning basic SEO now will set you up for massive TikTok success in the future as the platform will inevitably change and stop offering as much viral fame as it’s first few years.
10. Increase Conversions with Bonuses
Secret affiliate marketing hack #10: use bonuses to increase your conversions.
It’s a little harder to get conversions on high-ticket products, but not impossible.
And if you do it right, you’ll win sales over other people selling the same thing.
And you do that by offering bonuses related to the products.
You can create freebies yourself, buy PLR products and offer them as bonuses, or even offer a free training you made or 1-on-1 coaching.
If you’re in the marketing or make money online niche, you can use a platform like Commission Gorilla that has a library of pre-made digital products you can use as bonuses.
Whatever you choose, make sure it’s relevant to the end product and valuable enough that it can persuade people to buy.
