I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz about this side hustle on TikTok lately, myself.

So, naturally, I wanted to dig in and learn a little more. 

I saw a TikTok video that said you can make up to $7k a month or close to $100k a year just testing brand new Adidas swag!

So being the researcher that I am, I headed online and started digging around. 

And you’re not going to believe what I found.

What is Adidas Product Testing? 

The Adidas Product Testing program is a program run by Adidas where consumers can sign up to put the brand’s latest products to the test. 

Product testers for Adidas must meet several requirements in order to test new products. 

The products that are sent out to Adidas product testers are brand new items that are currently unreleased to the public. 

The purpose of this product testing program is so Adidas can find potential flaws or areas to improve with their newest items before they’re released to the public. 

How Much Does Adidas Pay You to Test Products?

Adidas doesn’t pay product testers a single cent to test their products. They say this right on their website.

“Please note: addidas does not pay money to its wear testers. Some people on social media are claiming to have been financially compensated to be wear testers for adidas. These claims are false and are not sponsored or endorsed by adidas.“

This is where the bad news starts. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but TikTokers are spreading a TON of misinformation about side hustles and how much money you can make from them. This is a huge problem in my opinion.

Unless you choose to make money from Adidas products in other ways, like affiliate marketing, you don’t get paid at all to test their products. 

Even worse: you don’t get to keep the products, either. 

No money, no free Adidas swag. Womp womp. 

You have to send the products back to Adidas so they can evaluate them. After all, the whole purpose of this program is so they can see what needs to be improved on. 

Adidas Product Testing Reddit Reviews

To get the real scoop on Adidas product testing, I went to Reddit. 

And what I found… was crickets. 

The image above is all I found on Reddit, and none of the comments were helpful or relevant to the OPs question.

There really aren’t a lot of people talking about being product testers for Adidas on Reddit. 

But, I did find several Redditors talking about similar product testing processes for other brands, like Brooks and Nike. 

Some brands let you keep the products, but others don’t. 

Why Is Adidas Product Testing So Popular Right Now?

The reason Adidas product testing is such a hot topic right now is because of TikTok.

The video on the left has over 3 million views, 184k likes, and 48k saves. That’s a LOT of people this creator lied to.

There are a massive amount of TikTokers on the platform making side hustle videos that are 100% false – like the ones that tell you that you can earn thousands a month testing free products from Adidas. 

The problem is…

When one person makes a false video like this and it goes viral…

Hundreds of people will copy it, trying to get a piece of that sought-after virality for themselves. 

They want to boost their profile views and gain followers. 

Honestly, most of them don’t have ill-intent in mind. 

I guarantee that most of the people copying these videos don’t even think to verify the information. 

That’s how false information gets spread. 

And I truly hope TikTok does something about it… Because this is a major problem.

How Does Product Testing for Adidas Work?

What Are The Requirements?

In order to be a product tester for Adidas, you have to meet some minimum requirements. These requirements are size and location based. Here are the main ones: 

• You must be located in the US. 
• Have access to the internet
• Be at least 18 years old
• Provide body measurements
• Not test any competitor products

Lastly, you can’t share anything about the products you’re testing on social media, texts, or any other form of communication. 

How to Become an Adidas Product Tester

Here’s how to become a product tester for Adidas.

Step 1. Apply for the Product Testing Program

First things first, you need to apply for the product testing program. 

You can Google “adidas product testing” or go to producttesting.adidas.com. 

Fill in the requirements like your location, body measurements, etc. 

Step 2. Receive Products to Test

If you’re accepted as a product tester, you will be notified via email of upcoming product tests. 

You can then choose to accept or reject the test. 

Step 3. Test The Products According To The Requirements

Once you get a product to test, Adidas will have specific requirements for how they want you to use them. 

Typically, product tests will last a few weeks and you may be required to wear the items for a certain amount of hours per day, or a certain amount of miles, etc. 

Step 4. Provide Feedback

You will be providing feedback to Adidas throughout the duration of the product test. 

They want you to keep detailed logs of your daily activities so that they know you fulfilled the requirements properly and also so they know how the product is serving you. 

At the end of the product test, you’ll be instructed to fill out a questionnaire.

Step 5. Return Items

After you finish your product test, provide all relevant feedback, and complete the questionnaire, it’s time to send the products back. 

Adidas will provide a paid return label, so the shipping comes at no cost to you. 

Once they receive the product back, they will evaluate it for wear and tear based on your test so they can decide what improvements need to be made.

I’ve exposed the real truth about product testing for adidas. 

It’s a legitimate thing, but it does not pay. 

And you don’t get to keep the products.
